There are 66 books in the Bible
- 1. The books are arranged in 2 major divisions: The Old & New Testament
- 2. The Old Testament (O.T.) consists of 39 books (Genesis - Malachi)

- a. The term Old Testament is used in two ways and can be confusing
- b. The Old Testament can refer to the Law given to Moses by God at Mount Sinai
- c. It is also a descriptive term referring to the 39 books of the O.T.
- The New Testament (N.T. ) contains 27 books (Matthew - Revelation)
- The Division of the O.T. and the N.T. between Malachi and Matthew can be confusing
